I reached my hotel room to 1 and the question of what the next day went for me to keep. It was the end of a very long day. I had this morning to Milwaukee (I thought) went on a short flight to Oklahoma City, with veterans who recently returned from deployment. If I get my house, I know very little about that storm rages and the southern states that I am for 4 hours on the tarmac in Austin, and even more time in the Houston airport waiting in line - only to learn that they do not know if I go anywhere else that weekend. As I lay there in bed with my mind racing, I knew I had a choice to make. I could choose, in a maelstrom of madness and let my feelings best by me, or I could be something else. I have to focus on coffee. It's everything I wanted the next day - a decent cup of coffee. It is not too great - just decent. We all have days go wrong. Change our attitude, they can all go a little softer. Here is how it worked for me. Here are three areas to help.
Priority 1: Change Your Focus
We look forward to that cup of coffee helped me ch'lax - a term I got from my 4 children, a combination of chilling and relaxing. Each of us has something that can help us ch'lax. It may looking forward to a cup of coffee or it could be a multitude of other things - listen to music, deep breathing, go swimming, or reading (the possibilities are endless!). There are no parameters to what you decide to use - it is up to you. At the end of the day, it's about the best case and worst-case. best case you get what you want. Worst case, it is not. In this sense, everything is possible! Sun, CH'LAX!
FOCUS POINT 2: Find the HUMOR
We look forward to that cup of coffee helped me in the mood of my day. Verily, it was a pretty fun day. Yes, it was frustrating , at times, but there were some pretty great moments. Without the fear, whatever the next, I was able to see with greater clarity. Most of these moments, the people I had during the day - as the group was on its way to Las Vegas and had the party as soon as we left Milwaukee. Or, as the bags of pretzels keep getting smaller, and that if I am only a bag of candy bars I have been able to pay for my flight from auctioning them. If we focus, we can see the mood of everything.
Priority 3: grateful
We look forward on that cup of coffee helped me be grateful for the things that sometimes can be overlooked. For example: Even though the day was long, I had my carry-on luggage (with a toothbrush), telephone, music, and was able to find a place to sleep for a few hours before the next adventure begin. This was at home a little harder the next morning when I saw a lot of sleep quite uncomfortable throughout the airport. Regardless of the situation, it are always things we are thankful for. When in a tight place, try on the things the "right" in your life. When I think of my wife's smile, or one of our children's smiles, I can not help , but feel blessed. What is it for you?
The next morning I get up early and head towards the airport. Yes, I was still on my cup of coffee, but at this point I was feeling so good that my happiness does not depend on whether I want it to or not. But, I did it! The delicious that the quality of the Cup-'o-Joe percolated through my entire system! yet half of its euphoric effect, I went up to the counter to start waiting in line, but I do not have to wait - I was the first person there! The rest of my day went even better! Where could before I have to stay in Houston all weekend, now there was a new flight and I got a place. When I to Oklahoma City, my luggage and a taxi was waiting for me on my program on time. If something was wrong, I would not have noticed. Everything changed because I changed. It's like life works, is not it? All life is made of moments - good moments and, to put it mildly, not so good moments. But it is also from the time of the election - where we can, how we deal with the things that we around dough. I am for coffee, and it helped me get my perspective, ch'lax, and grateful for the things that go right. If you are taken, what will you choose?
